If you find that none of the sewers drains in your house are properly draining call the City of Stanwood first. We will investigate to see if the City’s collection line is clogged. If it is clogged, the City will unclog it immediately at no cost to you. If it is running freely, the City will notify you so you can call a plumber to unclog your pipes, tap or side sewer.
Call the Utilities Underground Location Center at 800-424-5555 for free location and marking of utility lines. You are responsible for any lines that could be damaged during work on your property. Always call ahead and work carefully. Some lines on private property may not be located.
The City is responsible for all mainlines for each utility.
The water utility provides service for the connection from the mainline to the meter box or vault. The City also maintains meter components and cut off located within the box. Service connections beyond the meter are the responsibility of the customer.
The wastewater utility provides service for the City’s sanitary sewer mainlines, lift/pump stations and the City treatment plant. Property owners are responsible for their side sewer from the property to the mainline.
