Unemployment Fraud

If you suspect that your Id has been used fraudulently to open an unemployment claim use the following steps to report it. Our deputies/detectives do not have access to ESD info and cannot stop the fraudulent claim. You can request an incident number from us if your bank or credit reporting agency requires it.

✅ Step One – Contact your employer’s HR department to report the incident.
✅ Step Two – Immediately contact WA State Employment Security Department to report the fraud.

✅ Step Three – Report the fraudulent activity to the three Major Credit Bureaus.

Hang on to any paper trail that you can reference: such as notes, copies of emails, reports, letters received, etc.
