Municipal Code Update
The City of Stanwood is seeking community input on changes to the Comprehensive Plan and Municipal Code. The Municipal Code contains the local laws that implement the goals and policies of the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan and Municipal Code Update projects are expected to take approximately two years to complete; this is the beginning of the process and there will be many opportunities to participate in the update.
Housing Action Plan
The City of Stanwood won a state grant for policy creation and planning regarding housing. This grant work results in a Housing Action Plan (HAP). Developing a HAP is a multi-step process. Along with the Housing Action Plan (HAP), Stanwood is also working on its 2024 Comprehensive Plan. Both plans strive to be actionable policy documents, supported by data and public input, that outlines how to meet Stanwood’s needs. Strong plans are built on feedback from community members and stakeholders, so that their interests and local knowledge are reflected throughout the document. The City of Stanwood is committed to effective and inclusive community engagement.
